Take Action to Stop Internet Taxes

Campaign for Liberty

Dear Erick,

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the National Internet Tax Mandate as soon as it returns from its recess next week.

So far, your senator, Sen. Mark Udall, has previously voted to advance this Mandate, which would rip more money away from hardworking Americans and to force businesses to collect sales taxes online while remaining in compliance with almost 10,000 tax jurisdictions across the country.

Last Thursday, 63 senators voted to support cloture (which requires 60 votes) and proceed to final passage on the National Internet Tax Mandate, S. 743.

But throughout this fight, previous cloture votes had consistently received the support of around 75 senators.

I firmly believe Thursday's vote shows the momentum is on our side, and C4L's grassroots mobilization efforts are making a huge impact on Capitol Hill.

Now you and I must turn up the pressure on Sen. Mark Udall to vote against S. 743 on final passage.

Only a simple majority of senators are required for final passage to succeed, so it's critical we make our voices heard immediately.

My staff has created a flier you can pass out in your local area to inform more Americans about the dangers posed by the National Internet Tax Mandate.

You can obtain it HERE.

(For proper formatting, be sure to download and then print the flier.)

And if you are aware of any events where Sen. Mark Udall will be speaking this week, please respond and let us know so we can spread the word.

Thank you for taking action on this issue and for standing with taxpayers against the National Internet Tax Mandate!

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

If possible, I hope you'll also consider chipping in $5 or $10 today to help C4L lead the fight against the National Internet Tax Mandate as this issue heats up!
