Christmas with Ron Paul

Dear Erick, Carol and I are so blessed to be surrounded by our family at Thanksgiving and Christmas each year. And it is getting crowded at our table - we are now up to 18 grandchildren! So we are cherishing this break - but it is a short one. That's because, in only a few weeks, voters in Iowa and New Hampshire will kick off the primary season -- largely deciding the Republican nominee for President in 2012. The first caucus is January 3 in Iowa. The first primary is January 10 in New Hampshire. It is getting near the time to turn out our supporters! And that means it's time to roll out our Secret Weapon - Youth for Paul! Whenever I am gathered with my family as I am for the holidays, I am reminded why I am doing this. I firmly believe the next generation needs us to fix our problems now, so there will be a great country left to give them. I am also reminded of this every time I speak on a college campus. One of the highlights of these last few years has been seeing a new generation of Liberty activists joining our fight. Many of them want to help our campaign succeed in these early states. So with their help, we have initiated a "Christmas Vacation with Ron Paul" program for our young supporters to get the vote out for us while they're on their breaks from school! And your financial support today will determine how effective my campaign will be at turning out the vote in the early, pivotal states. Youth for Ron Paul - my campaign's official youth effort – will work to organize almost 500 young activists for these first two electoral contests during this get-out-the-vote (GOTV) effort. That's 500 boots on the ground. 500 more activists knocking on doors and making phone calls. 500 young men and women willing to work all day and night to help our campaign succeed. I hope I can count on your help to fund this important effort. Although this program is very cost-effective, it still costs money. And that is something our campaign will need much, much more of in the coming weeks. These Youth for Paul workers are ready to get to work - if you will help sponsor them today. There has never been a more important time in our movement. The predictions I made have come true. We have grown the size of government to something our Founders would never recognize. We have done great damage to our monetary system - causing inflation and creating a housing bubble that forced our economy into recession when it burst. America can't take much more of the Keynesian, Big Government, Fed-loving policies of our current leaders. That's why I am confident America is ready for our message and our plan to Restore America Now. Together, we will: Stop the spread of socialist, Big Government health care; Stop the growth of government spending, restrictive regulations, and involvement in our lives; Audit the Federal Reserve, which I believe will serve as an important first step toward finally ending the Fed once and for all; Cut taxes, because we have to starve the beast that is the federal government; Ensure the federal government returns to its constitutional principles by eliminating departments and agencies that are not authorized by the Constitution; Ensure a new, more humble, constitutional foreign policy for our nation. We cannot be the world's policeman. We should not engage in "Nation-Building." We cannot afford trillion-dollar international boondoggles that cost us our lives, our fortunes, and our freedom; Repeal Big Government schemes like the so-called "Patriot" Act. This program is something no other campaign will be able to duplicate. That's because no other campaign has the level of support and enthusiasm among young people that our campaign has. And I am overwhelmed that so many of these young people are willing to give up their Christmas break to work day and night for my election. They are willing to do their part. It will cost over $20,000 per day to put 500 young people on the ground in Iowa and New Hampshire. I know that sounds like a lot, but actually, that is only $45.00 per person! I think you will admit that is a bargain! But $20,000 per day for 30 days means a new expense of $600,000. I must raise those funds AT ONCE to pay for this program. I know we have been asking a lot of you this year. But, as I hope you have seen, this campaign aims to win. It is being run by professionals. It is being pushed forward by a movement. Let's stand together once again.
