 Dear Erick, The July 24 showdown on Audit the Fed is fast approaching. Have you called your representative? If you haven’t, please do so right away. If you already have, thank you so much for taking action! But I hope you’ll do so again – or follow up with an email or fax. You can reach your representative by calling the Capitol Hill switchboard at 202-224-3121 TODAY. As I told you in my last email, this vote on Audit the Fed is being held under suspension of the rules – which means a two-thirds majority will be required for passage. While that certainly raises the bar for you and me, it means the Fed’s cronies won’t be able to water down this critical bill with amendment after bankster-backed amendment. This gives us a terrific chance to have a full vote on a clean bill. So it’s vital every representative – even if they’re already a cosponsor – be reminded you expect their “YES” vote this Tuesday. We can’t afford to take one vote for granted. Now, rest assured, C4L is going to continue working hard to ensure the GOP House Leadership agrees to hold a vote under normal House rules should you and I fall a few votes short. But I don’t plan on that being necessary. That’s because I know just how powerful the action from grassroots supporters like you can be in FORCING Members of Congress to see the light. And I also know that the more votes we can get in this House fight, the more likely it is we can convince wavering U.S. senators to come our way. Erick, Congressman Ron Paul’s consistent leadership on Federal Reserve transparency has helped bring us to this point. But it’s been the consistent action of grassroots C4L members like you that has put you and me on the verge of victory. So don’t let up now. Let’s finish this battle. Pick up your phone and call. Fax a letter into their congressional office. If you’re able to get to your representative’s Capitol Hill or district office, swing by and explain to their staff exactly why this fight is so important. Aren’t you tired of the Fed’s printing money out of thin air, enriching the well-connected, and destroying the middle class? Aren’t you sick of the boom and busts followed by off-the-record loans and bailouts to their bankster cronies – while hardworking Americans get left holding the bag? Aren’t you disgusted by the Fed masquerading crony capitalism in front of the American people and calling it free markets? If you are, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Not tomorrow. Not next week. NOW. Please call, email, or fax your representative IMMEDIATELY. Leave a message, if you have to, either with a staffer or on their voicemail. But please act TODAY.
