Senator Reid wants to eliminate the minority party's ability to filibuster presidential appointments to cabinet positions and federal agencies. Never mind that he previously defended the filibuster when he was the one in the minority. He knows the American people haven't given him the numbers he needs to ram through the President's radical appointments. So he's trying to guarantee that he only needs a simple majority vote to approve such appointees from now on. To make matters worse, some Republicans may be seeking a "compromise" with Harry Reid that would allow them to claim they stood up to him while still allowing Reid to ram Barack Obama's radical nominees through the Senate.
