Dear Erick, "The power to tax is the power to destroy." And it seems there's nothing the statists want to destroy more than the liberty movement. . . You see, the IRS recently admitted they've been targeting groups or organizations who worked to limit the federal government and restore the Constitution... . . . organizations like Campaign for Liberty. When asked about this outrage, the IRS responded with a simple "We're sorry." Well, I've got a message for Barack Obama's goons at the IRS: Targeting organizations with IRS audits because of their political beliefs is clearly an attempt to intimidate groups like Campaign for Liberty into dropping their opposition to policies such as ObamaCare, Cap and Tax, Bankster Bailouts, and new regulations and taxes on the Internet. The IRS' message for you: Play nice with the statists or else. . . Talk about Gangster Government! Using federal agents - acting under the color of law - to silence the government's opposition is the very type of tyranny the First Amendment's guarantees of free speech and the right to petition the government are designed to prevent. The American people deserve to know which federal officials were involved in planning and implementing the scheme to use the IRS as a goon squad to squelch out the Administration's most vocal opposition. If Barack Obama's goons at the IRS get away with harassing liberty groups - with not even a slap on the wrist - then you can be certain they'll try it again in the future. Except next time they'll be careful to cover their tracks and not get caught. That's why you and I must turn up the heat on Congress to conduct a full investigation and take whatever actions are necessary to hold those responsible accountable. So please sign your APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED Petition IMMEDIATELY! No American should ever be subjected to IRS harassment simply for exercising their First Amendment freedoms. Unfortunately, you and I both know Harry Reid will use his power over the Senate to protect Barack Obama's cronies at the IRS. So it's up to the U.S. House to investigate the IRS. Some members of the House GOP Leadership have stated their intentions to investigate this outrage. But one thing I know from my years of political activism is that the GOP establishment does not want a fight like this. They'd rather accept the IRS' apology, have a few dog-and-pony show hearings, maybe find a few lower level scapegoats, and pretend the issue has been resolved so they can get back to cutting deals with the Democrats to raise taxes and increase spending. So please sign your APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED PETITION to House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and your U.S. Representative IMMEDIATELY. Your signed Petition demands the GOP Leadership conduct a full investigation and take whatever actions are necessary to hold those responsible accountable. And if at all possible, I hope you'll chip in $10 or $20 to help Campaign for Liberty mobilize a grassroots army of Americans to flood Congress with APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED PETITIONS. I realize you and I are already fighting the statists on all fronts. Stopping the Internet Tax Mandate. . . Defeating Barack Obama's Gun Ban. . . Fighting implementation of a National ID Card. . . Auditing the out-of-control Federal Reserve. Campaign for Liberty members and supporters have been active in all these fights - and your actions are making a difference. And I appreciate all the time and effort Campaign for Liberty members and supporters like you have devoted to fighting for individual liberty and constitutional government. So I wouldn't ask you to get involved in another battle unless it was critically important. The IRS' targeting of groups who oppose President Obama's statist agenda is OUTRAGEOUS and MUST NOT go unpunished. If Barack Obama's goons at the IRS get away with just saying, "We're sorry," you can be sure they'll continue harassing and intimidating freedom-loving Americans. So please, sign your APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED Petition today, and if at all possible, please chip in $10 or $20 to help Campaign for Liberty turn up the heat on Congress to investigate the IRS. In Liberty, John Tate President P.S.
