Dear Erick, My fellow top-tier candidates in this race for President – Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich – must think Republican voters want a candidate who will just tinker around the edges. But with our nation now over $15 TRILLION in debt, I believe the American people understand half-measures aren’t going to cut it. But no other candidate has so much as lifted a finger to match my Plan to Restore America! As my campaign’s new ad entitled "Big Dog" shows, my Plan to Restore America has REAL solutions to our economic crisis – cutting a TRILLION dollars in spending during the first year of my presidency and balancing the budget by year three. That’s why I hope you’ll agree to make a generous donation to my campaign right away. You see, I need to raise $1 MILLION to be able to run this ad during the final few weeks before voting begins in Iowa and New Hampshire. In fact, if you were holding off on contributing until my next Money Bomb, I hope I can count on you to give half right now. My campaign must start making ad buys this week. But as it stands now, we need a massive influx of funds. So won't you agree to act IMMEDIATELY? The truth is, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are both peas in the same Washington, D.C.-establishment pod. Of course, Mitt Romney’s flip-flopping on key issues is no secret. But my other top-tier opponent in this race – Newt Gingrich – has spent years, if not decades, doing the exact same thing. Like Governor Romney, Newt Gingrich supported an individual mandate for health care, which is central to both “RomneyCare” and “ObamaCare.” Then, Newt Gingrich’s firm raked in nearly $40 MILLION from health care companies, which supported these and other Big Government schemes. Like Governor Romney, Newt Gingrich supported the $700 BILLION TARP bailouts. And like Governor Romney, Newt Gingrich has cozied up to environmental alarmists, even appearing in an ad with Nancy Pelosi in support of the job-killing "global warming" agenda. Sadly, that’s not the end of it. You see, even while I was warning of the dangers that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac posed to the American economy, Newt Gingrich was raking in $1.6 million from these government agencies to keep the housing bubble expanding. That’s just one difference between Newt Gingrich and me. While he was busy padding his personal bank account with cash from Washington insiders to keep their taxpayer-funded gravy train rolling, I was busy warning Congress and the nation of impending disaster if we didn’t change course. Of course, our nation is at a crossroads today. With spending spiraling out of control and our national debt skyrocketing, the American people are increasingly understanding that we must return to our limited government, pro-free market values that made us the freest, most prosperous nation in the world. And my Plan to Restore America will do just that. My plan eliminates five federal departments - Education, Energy, Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, and Interior. And it balances the budget without cutting one penny from our veterans, one penny from our senior citizens, or one penny from our national defense. My Plan to Restore America balances our budget by: *** REDUCING the federal workforce by 10%, slashing congressional pay and perks, curbing excessive federal travel, and lowering my salary as President to $39,336, which is approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker; *** FREEZING federal spending to 2006 levels, the last time Republicans had complete control of the federal government; *** AUDITING the Federal Reserve, as well as cutting the EPA by 30% and the FDA by 40%; *** STOPPING all foreign aid and ending all foreign wars so we no longer continue the policy of taking money from poor people here in America and sending it to rich people in poor countries overseas; *** REPEALING ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, Sarbanes Oxley, mandating REINS-style requirements for thorough congressional review and authorization before implementing any new regulations issued by bureaucrats, and canceling all onerous regulations previously issued by Executive Order. So I hope you’ll agree to make a generous donation to help me get this message out before voting takes place in the key early Primary and Caucus states. As you can see, my plan, my record of being right while others were wrong, and my unmatched and unwavering record of fighting for fiscal responsibility and constitutional principles is what sets me apart from my fellow top-tier candidates. Since I’ve been railing against Big Government during my entire time in Congress, you can be sure that I’m not just talking the talk like the other candidates. If elected President, I will also walk the walk and turn things around in Washington. But I can’t change Washington and get our economy moving in the right direction again without the support of good folks like you. Time is short until voters begin going to the polls to select the Republican nominee. And with a clear top tier, Republican voters have a clear choice. Voters can choose a continuation of the Big Government, big spending status quo by supporting either one of my establishment opponents – Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich. Or they can choose a REAL constitutional conservative who is serious about getting Washington under control and restoring liberty and prosperity in America. The good news is, my campaign is expanding by leaps and bounds. And as more Americans find out I am the only candidate serious about making REAL spending cuts, my campaign continues to grow stronger. But with time running out before voting begins, I need to raise an additional $1 million to make sure as many voters as possible see my new "Big Dog" ad. That’s why I hope you’ll consider making a generous donation of $500, $250, $100, $50, $35 – or whatever you can afford – to my campaign immediately. Together, you and I can Restore America Now! For Liberty, Ron Paul P.S. You and I need a President who can be trusted to put an end to the out-of-control spending coming out of Washington, D.C. But as my new campaign ad shows, I’m the only candidate in this race with a real plan to cut spending and get our economy moving in the right direction again. I’ll hope you’ll take a moment to check it out. And with time running out, I'd appreciate it if you would consider contributing to my presidential campaign, as well. |
