After 30 years...

Dear Erick, After nearly 30 years of fighting for liberty in Washington, my time in Congress is rapidly coming to an end.  But what a way to go out!  I am so pleased to tell you about what could be the crowning achievement of my legislative efforts – passing our Audit the Fed bill! I know a lot has been asked of you this year, but I’m writing today to make sure you understand that in the coming days, my biggest priority will be passing my Audit the Fed bill through Congress.  The good news is, the House leadership has promised a vote on Audit the Fed this July, so I must ask EVERY SINGLE PATRIOT to help Campaign for Liberty in this vital effort today.  You can help me make history – and help change the course of the country - by passing Audit the Fed through Congress. As you know, the Federal Reserve, the Treasury Department, and their cronies on Wall Street have for nearly 4 years been engaged in the worst plundering of a country’s wealth in the history of civilization. It began with the bailouts.  Then it moved on to QE 1 and 2, with who knows how many more on the horizon.   Our dollar is being devalued.  The cost of food, gas, and other goods is being inflated, while you and I are left holding the bag. The budget deficit grows.  Our debt grows - now almost 16 trillion dollars. And don’t be fooled by the charade of imaginary spending cuts the politicians want you to believe they have passed. Nothing has changed.  In fact, the debt ceiling increase ensures we will add at least TEN TRILLION dollars in new debt over the next ten years. The statists and banksters are clearly out of control.  And only you and I, together with millions of freedom-loving Americans, can demand Congress finally put a stop to it all. Campaign Update

Dear Erick, I wanted you to get an update from me personally, since we have some great news! Due to the smart planning of our campaign and the hard work and diligence of supporters like you, we stand to send nearly 200 bound delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa. This number shatters the predictions of the pundits and talking heads and shows the seriousness of our movement. What's more, we will send several hundred additional supporters to Tampa who, while bound to Romney, believe in our ideas of liberty, constitutional government, and a common-sense foreign policy. When it is all said and done, we will likely have as many as 500 supporters as delegates on the Convention floor.  That is just over 20 percent! And while this total is not enough to win the nomination, it puts us in a tremendous position to grow our movement and shape the future of the GOP! I hope every one of you continues the fight we have advanced so well this year.  I hope you will finish your local and state conventions, and, if you were selected as a national delegate, that you will head to Tampa in August to force the Republican Party to listen to the voice of liberty. We have never had this kind of opportunity.  There will be hundreds of your fellow supporters in Tampa who will be ready and willing to push the Republican Party back to its limited government, liberty roots. There are many issues to fight for in Tampa.  Also, candidates like Justin Amash, Kurt Bills, and Thomas Massie need your support as we move into the fall.  Across the country, supporters of liberty have won local office and leadership positions in the GOP, and we need to keep working. Our delegates’ presence must be felt both in Tampa and in years to come.  Stand up for what we believe in.  Be respectful.  And let the establishment know that we are the future of the Party and of the country. Our Revolution is just getting started.  You'll be hearing plenty from me as we approach Tampa and the fall elections.  You'll also be hearing of important developments on Audit the Fed and Campaign for Liberty. Hands Off the Internet!

Dear Erick, The Internet – and along with it, the entire technological revolution – is now in the government’s crosshairs. Of course, for years, government officials have turned up their nose at the Internet - aghast that something so “unregulated” (i.e. “FREE!”) could be allowed to exist. But today – they have a new unspoken reason for their HATE. And it’s you and me. That’s why I’m hoping I can count on to you sign your special Protect Internet Freedom Mandate IMMEDIATELY! In fact, just recently, we’ve seen a torrent of massive new regulatory schemes rearing their ugly heads in Congress, including:  ***  Internet Sales Taxes designed to hike the price of goods sold over the Internet; ***  The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which would give the government the power to shut down any website simply because someone made the “allegation” there was a copyright violation; ***  The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011 (CISPA), which would gut privacy laws and allow Internet providers and websites to hand over personal data to ANY agency in the federal government; ***  The Internet “Kill Switch,” which would allow the President to shut down the entire Internet at a moment’s notice. And this December, the United Nations is meeting to come up with even MORE recommendations for international Internet regulations! The Wall Street Journal called it “a wake-up call for the world’s two billion web users, who take for granted the light regulation of the Internet.” That’s why it’s vital you sign the Protect Internet Freedom Mandate IMMEDIATELY! In one example of what happens when the government gets too much uncontested control, the FCC, which has been charged by Congress with assigning spectrum rights through transparent, market-based auctions, has actually conducted very few fair and transparent auctions. Spectrum is the invisible airwaves that mobile devices, broadcast television, and FM radio use to communicate, and private ownership of spectrum is forbidden by government. But since government controls the right, it picks the winners and the losers. Instead of being fairly allocated, government involvement in spectrum has essentially created one of the largest corporate welfare programs in history. And they can’t wait to get their hands on the immense treasure trove of private personal information on virtually every American that total control of the Internet would give them . . . Just imagine government bureaucrats with everything about what you read, what you watch, what you buy, what you say, whom you talk to - and what you think about THEM – all at their fingertips. That’s why, if you and I are serious about restoring liberty in this country, these are not battles you and I can afford to lose. But sadly, with a constant rash of attacks coming from virtually every direction, winning these battles is NOT going to be easy. Instead of trying to ram just one or two schemes through Congress, it seems like the statists’ strategy is to kill the Internet by 1,000 cuts.
