Obama's NSA Hopes You Don't Read This Email

Dear Erick, For decades, I've been warning about the dangers of U.S. government surveillance programs being used against American citizens. Of course, snoop-state insiders laughed at me every time I raised concerns about allowing the federal government to read the emails, monitor the online activity, and seize the phone records of Americans without obtaining a warrant. And the information that's surfaced so far is disturbing to say the least: *** The NSA is collecting and storing HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of U.S. phone records; *** The NSA is gathering audio, video, email, photographic, and Internet search usage of Americans who use major providers such as Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Yahoo; *** Overall, the NSA collected 97 BILLION pieces of intelligence from computer networks in March 2013 alone and three billion pieces of intelligence from U.S. computer networks over a 30-day period. Unlike Senator Graham, I don't believe the government needs to know more about what innocent Americans are doing in their daily lives. Instead, you and I need to know more about what Barack Obama's NSA is up to. You see, not only does the NSA's snooping program violate the Fourth Amendment freedoms of the American people, but it also opens the door for massive fraud and abuse. Think about it. The government is looking at every Internet click, every email, and every phone call, and they're using phone GPS systems to track Americans. Here's how the NSA's program works. There's a computer program with an algorithm written to analyze the massive amount of data coming in and determine whether or not someone fits the description of a terrorist and should be watched. If the program labels you a potential threat, then snoop-state insiders can access your emails, phone calls, and other private records to see what you've been doing. After Barack Obama's IRS recently got caught targeting those who oppose his Big Government policies, and Eric Holder's Department of Justice was found to be seizing the phone records of reporters, why should the American people trust bureaucrats in the federal government to protect their Fourth Amendment freedoms? How long before someone changes the program to target gun owners? How long before the program is tweaked to target people based on voting records and political beliefs? I don't know about you, but I don't want to find out. That's why I'm counting on you to sign your Fourth Amendment Pledge of Support to Campaign for Liberty IMMEDIATELY. Does the Government Want to Detain You?

Update - As I was getting ready to send you the below email, news broke that the Obama administration has been collecting data on the phone calls of millions of innocent Americans. Add this further proof of an out-of-control federal government to what we've already seen with the NDAA (more info below), and it's clear you and I must raise our voices NOW. Dear Erick, We all know the Supreme Court, Congress, and the President make mistakes. ObamaCare's "Individual Mandate," anyone? Next week, you and I have an opportunity to overturn one of the most dangerous mistakes Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court have ever made. Which is why I need you to sign your Repeal Section 1021 Fax Petition right away! Let me explain... You see, in 1944, the Supreme Court upheld the supposed "constitutionality" of Franklin D. Roosevelt's Executive Order 9066, which led to the internment of Japanese-Americans in prison camps throughout WWII. Despite the passage of the "Civil Liberties Act of 1988," the Korematsu and Hirabayashi decisions are still on the books. In 1992, when Congress passed amendments to the Act, then-President George H.W. Bush said, "The internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry was a great injustice, and it will never be repeated." Or will it...? Congress has reopened this scar in our nations' past by codifying into law Presidential authority to detain Americans as long as they want. Specifically, Section 1021 of the FY 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) allows American citizens to be detained indefinitely - without due process - until the "War on Terror" is declared over. But, as politicians of both parties are forever reminding us, the "War on Terror" may never be over. An amendment intended to curtail the blatantly unconstitutional indefinite detention provision was adopted to the FY 2013 NDAA in the Senate - before being stripped out by the John McCain-led Conference Committee. Their goal was to ensure the President could secretly target American citizens and throw them in jail for years or even decades without so much as ever giving them a trial! Next week, the full House will take up the FY 2014 NDAA, and it's up to us to make sure it repeals Section 1021 of the FY 2012 NDAA. That's why it's so urgent you sign your "Repeal Section 1021" Fax Petition to Congress right away! This petition urges your representative to support any amendment that will prevent the indefinite detention of American citizens and to vote against any defense authorization bill that doesn't repeal this abuse of power! Representative Thomas Massie and others have assured us they are doing what they can to bring an amendment to the floor, but if it gets there, your representative needs to know how to vote. That's why Congress needs to hear from you immediately. After failing to adopt amendments to repeal Sec. 1021 of the FY 2012 NDAA, the government still has the authority to indefinitely detain anyone the government accuses of "supporting terrorism." Remember, not too long ago, it was C4L members who were listed in a Missouri Fusion Center report, later referred to as the MIAC report, as "domestic extremists" to be watched. And it wasn't just C4L members on that list, but people displaying third party logos and bumper stickers - and, specifically, supporters of Ron Paul. In the past, everyone from gun owners, to pro-lifers, to tea partiers have been labeled "terrorists" by their political opponents. This is why it's critical Section 1021 be repealed. In a signing statement, the President assured Americans he wouldn't use this power. But after all that's happened with this administration lately, I'm not sure Americans can ever take this President at his word again. Even if this President doesn't use such authority, what about the next? And the one after that? You and I must take a stand and make our voices heard. So please sign your Repeal Section 1021 Fax Petition right away. After you've signed your petition, I hope you'll contribute whatever you can to help C4L reach millions of more Americans about the dangers contained in the NDAA. Ultimately, I'd love to flood Capitol Hill with fax petitions from outraged constituents all across the country. But C4L can only take as much action as our members' continued support allows. A Three-Headed Summer Monster

Dear Erick, They're baaa-aaaack. That feeling in the pit of your stomach you got this morning when you rolled out of bed wasn't just because it's Monday . . . After a week of leaving us alone, Congress is back, and their docket is chock full of radical assaults on our liberties. And I do mean FULL. I'll explain more in just a moment. But first, it's absolutely vital you sign your DEFEND LIBERTY Fax Petition IMMEDIATELY. By signing your petition, you authorize Campaign for Liberty to send your petitions as soon as the three critical fights I'm going to tell you about rear their ugly heads. Trust me. It won't be long! First up, the U.S. Senate will begin work on their so-called "Immigration Reform" bill, which is nothing more than a statist front to RAM a massive NATIONAL ID scheme into law. The statists' NATIONAL ID card would be required for all U.S. workers regardless of place of birth, making it illegal for anyone to hold a job in the United States who doesn't obtain the ID card. The most dangerous part is the biometric database, which would allow federal bureaucrats to track our every move. Once government bureaucrats know exactly how we live our lives, it won't be long until they ramp up their efforts to run them through more laws, regulations, taxes, and other restraints. As bad as this assault is, it's FAR from the end of what the statists in both parties have up their sleeves. In fact, Congress could soon end up ramming through two other massive power grabs: *** GUN CONTROL. Ever since their first attempt at gun control flamed out in the U.S. Senate, the gun-grabbers have been doing everything they can to browbeat the handful of Republican and Democrat Senators they need into supporting President Obama's anti-gun assault. But now, you and I are learning House Republican Leadership could take up the issue even before the Senate acts. *** NATIONAL INTERNET TAX MANDATE. If passed, the National Internet Tax Mandate would raise taxes on all Americans as a state sales tax on all goods purchased online would be implemented. Tax collectors in one state would now be free to pursue retailers across state lines, so if customers in New York make purchases from an online retailer in Texas, that retailer must collect New York's exorbitant sales taxes and send them to New York's tax collection agencies. Worse, after the bill overwhelmingly passed the Senate, I'm already getting word that some in the GOP leadership will be more than happy to help this Obama-backed bill sail into law. Erick, you and I have to mobilize NOW to stop this madness. So won't you please sign your DEFEND LIBERTY Fax Petition IMMEDIATELY? As I mentioned, I'll begin flooding Congress with these Fax Petitions as soon as the fights begin. I hope you'll act today.
