Fw: Duck Hunting

Dear Erick,

While you watch election results roll in tonight, there's a lurking threat waiting to strike no matter who wins.

It's called the lame-duck session of Congress, and it starts next week...

Dr. Paul says the national security statists are gearing up for battle, and he is asking for your help right away.

So please see Dr. Paul's email below.

In Liberty,

Erica D

Dear Erick,

You’re probably as tired as I am of the non-stop election coverage that seems to dominate our lives.

Well, there’s a group of people who know all-too-well exactly how much Americans are ready to stop paying attention to politics – those who want to grab more power for the government.

One week after the November 6 election, I’ll be back in Washington, D.C. for the lame-duck session of Congress.

In fact, this time will mark my final weeks as a U.S. Representative.

As I prepare to leave office, I would love nothing more than to see Campaign for Liberty make a huge impact to defeat the statists’ plans, which will include extending many of their police state powers through reauthorizing the FISA Amendments Act, just to name one example.

Many politicians on Capitol Hill will think this is the perfect time to strike.

I think it’s the perfect time to remind them C4L will never back down in defense of liberty.

But Campaign for Liberty needs your help to be effective during the lame duck.

So please take just a moment to watch an urgent video update from C4L President John Tate explaining why the lame-duck session is so dangerous and what you can do to fight back.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

Time for Accountability

Campaign for Liberty

Dear Erick,

Are you tired of the antics of our legislators in Denver?

Have you had enough of politicians who verbally claim fidelity to limited government and personal liberty while campaigning but then do the polar opposite after they win the election?

Many of our elected officials on the federal level seem to blatantly ignore our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

And many state officials carry that Big Government philosophy over right into our own backyards.

Every year, new laws are passed limiting our rights and giving unelected bureaucrats new authority to interfere in our lives.

It is imperative we work to repeal the laws that legislators and bureaucrats are using to trample our rights and instead pass common-sense laws that protect our liberty.

That is why Colorado Campaign for Liberty has a Candidate Survey Program.

Each candidate for state legislature received a survey of seven important questions — questions that officially put candidates on record on liberty issues.

Candidates were asked where they stand on Liberty issues effecting Coloradans.

Click here to learn where your candidates stand on these important issues.

As we work toward liberty, it is critical to have current and potential legislators on record concerning constitutional issues.

Some candidates don’t want to go on the record - they are using evasive maneuvers to avoid responding to our questions.

Their silence betrays them. If they can’t be trusted to answer basic liberty questions, they certainly can’t be trusted to vote correctly if elected.

If your candidates have not yet answered our questions, please take a moment to contact them and ask them to complete and return their Campaign for Liberty surveys right away.

In Liberty,

Matt Holdridge
State Coordinator
Colorado Campaign for Liberty

P.P.S. Campaign for Liberty does not support or endorse candidates for office.  The goal of the Campaign for Liberty survey is only for keeping candidates true to their word should they be elected.  It should not be construed as an endorsement of any candidate.

You are encouraged to research each of your candidates to make an informed decision on their positions.

P.P.P.S. Colorado C4L is recruiting County Leaders!

As a Colorado Campaign for Liberty County Leader, you will be part of the backbone of this growing organization.

Click here to pledge to be involved with CO C4L on the county level right now.

Where Do Your Candidates Stand?

Campaign for Liberty

Dear Erick,

We are now only three days away from the November 6 elections.

While much of the focus around the country has been on the campaign for President, many other races are taking place that will affect our lives and liberties.

Earlier this year, Campaign for Liberty sent surveys to every candidate running for federal office.

The survey's questions are designed so your candidates' answers will tell you and me whether they're planning to maintain the "Government-knows-best," tax-and-spend status quo in Washington, D.C. . . .

. . . Or if they're planning to CUT spending, IMPROVE the economy, RESTORE individual liberty, and LIMIT government involvement in our lives.

Please, before you go to the polls on Tuesday, click here to see where your candidates stand on critical liberty issues.

If your candidates did not answer, please contact them right away to demand they return their Campaign for Liberty Candidate Survey immediately.

If your candidates answered in support of liberty and limited government, please take a moment to thank them for their stand and urge them never to back down.

And if you're able to chip in with a generous contribution of $25 or even just $10 to help C4L spread the word about our Candidate Survey program, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your support!
In Liberty,

John Tate
President

What is Lee Kemp hiding?

Campaign for Liberty

Dear Erick,

I don't know about you, but I don't trust a candidate for public office who won't give straight answers to simple questions.

For instance: "Do you oppose the use of unmanned devices being used for law enforcement and used in order to fine citizens?” In other words, do you oppose state or local government officials using drones and other technology meant for the battlefield to spy on unwitting citizens?

And: "Will you support legislation that would allow TSA agents to be charged with sexual assault if they use invasive “pat-down” procedures?" Simply said, do you support making federal agents accountable for stopping Coloradans without probable cause and groping them – which they do now with impunity?

Both of these important questions are on our candidate survey, and you deserve an answer for all candidates.

I have some good news, though.

In Senate District 23, Vicki Marble stood up for liberty and responded to our survey — answering 100% pro-Liberty.

But I also have some bad news...

Opponent Lee Kemp chose to ignore the survey we sent him. While there is still time, will you contact
Lee Kemp at 303-465-4046 and ask him to return his Campaign for Liberty survey?

It is vital we get every candidate for the Colorado legislature on record on these important liberty issues - now.  This is the time when politicians are really paying attention to what their constituents want.  And now is the time to begin holding politicians accountable.

But it isn't the only time.  This is only the first step.  But it is an important first step.

Keeping a watchful eye on our elected officials is vital to holding them accountable.

But their job as candidates is to let us know where they stand on important issues.

So please contact Lee Kemp at 303-465-4046. Demand he complete and return the Campaign for Liberty survey.

You deserve straight answers to important liberty questions.

In House District 48, of the top candidates, Stephen Humphrey stood up for liberty and responded to our survey — answering 100% pro-Liberty.

But I also have some bad news...

Dirty Deals

Campaign for Liberty

Dear Erick,

Election Day is right around the corner, but the buzz in Washington, D.C. isn't all about the possible winners and losers - it's about something else entirely.

It's about all the dirty deals that will be cut to take more of your liberties during the lame-duck session of Congress.

Representatives, Senators, and their staffers are anxious to put the 112th Congress to rest, so I'm afraid what few principles they actually have could fly out the window.

Not only that, but with the American people likely to "tune out" after Tuesday, November 6, the statists know the lame-duck session of Congress could be their best chance to ram through scheme after Big Government scheme.

The first item I'm hearing most about right now is renewal of the FISA Amendments Act, which has been used to supposedly justify spying on Americans in the name of fighting a war on terror.

Warrantless searches, roving wiretaps, even forcing libraries and Internet providers to spy on you - these are all up in the air with the FISA Amendments Act's expiration in December.

Second, we'll likely face a MASSIVE new scheme to seize control of the Internet.

Thanks to your help this past year, House and Senate statists failed to ram through their crown jewel in the national security police state - so-called "cybersecurity" legislation.

But Big Government forces would love nothing more than to force Internet providers to fully cooperate with a federal government all too eager to spy on American citizens.

Sadly, we might not be able to successfully defend liberty during the lame duck if I can't count on the support of good folks like you.

In fact, I'm afraid we could see many additional threats from politicians anxious to cut deals and get home for the holidays - and thinking grassroots activists like you aren't paying attention.

Worse, we only have ONE WEEK after Election Day to mobilize before the lame-duck session convenes on November 13.

Erick, I'm going to send you more updates about this in the coming days as information becomes clearer.

If you could chip in with a contribution of just $25 or $10 to help us mobilize as many Americans as possible for these upcoming fights, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please know I'm going to be counting on your action!

In Liberty,
John Tate
John Tate
President

P.S. The statists are scheming in preparation for the lame-duck Congress.

In fact, I'm hearing dirty deals are already being worked on to seize even more of our freedom when fewer Americans are likely to be paying attention to politics.

I'll send more updates in the coming days about what to expect in the lame duck.

But if you can, please chip in just $10 or $25 to help C4L mobilize as many Americans as possible to combat the statists' threats during the lame-duck session of Congress.
