Help Ron Paul shine light on the Fed!

Dear Erick, By now, you’re probably aware that Congressman Ron Paul’s bill to conduct a full audit of the Fed is heading to the House floor for a vote this month. The real question is, how many other Americans realize this vote is about to take place? Given the historic nature of this effort and the overwhelming support (nearly 80%!) Where were you on February 27, 2009?

Dear Erick, Where were you on Friday, February 27, 2009? I know for sure I'll never forget. It was the second day of the 2009 Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., and the first time C4L hosted a "Liberty Forum" at the Conference. But more importantly, it was at that Liberty Forum that C4L officially announced our intention to push a little-known bill to thoroughly audit the Federal Reserve. The excitement and energy were contagious. Hundreds of volunteers came in from all over the country to make C4L’s CPAC debut a great success. That weekend, they made sure that thousands of attendees knew we were going to pursue unprecedented transparency at our nation’s central bank... and that we weren’t going to stop until we had won. Fast forward a little over three years, and it’s amazing what we have achieved. Almost 80% of the American people have joined us in the call for a full audit. Our pressure in 2010 led to the passage of a limited disclosure that, while far from what we ultimately wanted, proved the Fed had put the American people on the hook for trillions in addition to our national debt. And it set the stage for a renewed effort this Congress. But your help now may be the key to victory ... or disappointment. What we started in a standing-room-only event on one Friday night in February 2009 has us on the verge of making history this July, with the full U.S. House set to vote later this month on a thorough and complete audit. This would have been impossible without the support of you and your fellow C4L members. So today, I want to ask you to rally with us one more time in support of Audit the Fed. Is Your Representative Running Cover for the Fed?

Dear Erick,

Congressman Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill will be voted on in the U.S. House this July.
 
Thanks to the hard work of Campaign for Liberty activists like you, Americans are waking up to the Fed’s secretive operations and the many problems it causes in our economy.
 
But while the prospects for passage of Audit the Fed have never been greater, it is now entering a very dangerous stage.
 
Now is the time when the Fed’s allies will do everything in their power to water the bill down and leave a meaningless shell behind – or kill it outright.
 
Don’t let them get away with it!
 
Audit the Fed currently enjoys the support of a majority of the U.S. House, but you and I know from experience that nothing can be taken for granted.
 
In fact, today, two Colorado representatives still refuse to cosponsor Audit the Fed.
 
Why are the following representatives refusing to stand for transparency and accountability at our nation's central bank?

• Rep. Diana DeGette (D) CD1  202-225-4431
• Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D) CD7  202-225-2645

If your representative is included in the above list, please call them immediately to demand they stand with the American people by cosponsoring HR 459, the Audit the Fed bill.
 
If your representative is already a cosponsor, I urge you to still contact them with two clear messages:
 
1.)  Any attempt to water down Audit the Fed – or a vote for such an attempt - will be seen as a direct attack on transparency and reported to their constituents as such.
 
2.)  HR 459 must receive a standalone, up or down vote on its own merits.
 
Our debt currently stands at almost $16 trillion, yet the Fed continues to print more money - backed by nothing but the whims of Ben Bernanke and international bankers.

The government and the Fed have also put us on the hook for trillions more in bailouts and loan guarantees.

Forcing a complete audit of the Federal Reserve is the first step to ending the fiscal insanity and saving this country from financial ruin.
 
Your dedication and determination have produced this historic moment in our battle against the Fed, but our work is not done yet.
 
So if your representative was included in the above list, please contact them right away to urge them to cosponsor Audit the Fed.
 
If your representative is already a cosponsor, remind them that any attempt to water Audit the Fed down will be seen as an attack on transparency.
 
And be sure to make it clear that HR 459 must receive a standalone vote.
